Let's be real here, things are scary, things are stressful, most of us are going through horse withdrawal, and the whole world is in the unknown. Exercise is a helpful way to reduce stress and anxiety which seems really relevant at a time like this. Do yourself a favour and if you haven't moved in a while, MOVE. Go for a walk, do some yoga, participate in that squat challenge, lift some weights. Listen to your body and mind and do what works for you. .

Because of the COVID-19 crisis, most of us are staying at home and working/doing everything on a screen. Almost all of our human interaction is on @zoom_video_communications, @houseparty or FaceTime. My personal screen time has increased 73% and its not bad! IT’S GREAT! We need it now more than ever. Unfortunately, there are some costs.

Tons of screen time can be quite disorienting for the brain because our bodies are made for moving. It’s actually how we think and process. When we are stagnant we can get anxious, lightheaded and unable to concentrate and let’s not mention the physical discomfort of being still. -

Even though more people are excited about fitness now than ever (also GREAT!), most of us are doing  1️⃣ vigorous online workout per day and sitting around 10 hours. This is a recipe for being uncomfortable! We get sore, then we are still, so we get stiff and we add stress/anxiety on top. You see where I’m going?! -

There is a solution: Take a Movement Break! Get your blood pumping and body moving! It’s actually proven that even 5 minutes of movement every so often decreases anxiety and discomfort and INCREASES productivity...

👈 to see 3 different “Movement Breaks.” I would suggest doing it 3 times during your work day. You can do the same one 3 times or a different one every time. Just get your ass movin’!

Kieran rode his bike into a puddle crashing, getting soaked and screaming on round 3.

I told Jayden to go get daddy because come hell or high water I was finishing what I started

After watching a fellow badass Tiff PRing her cleans I decided to head downstairs after and do my best to do the same.

I didnt PR per se because I have done 145lbs before

However, at home with metal plates and no ability to drop, I have never attempted more than 115lbs

Here I am crushing 135lbs easily

Thanks to all my crossfit girlies for the motivation and inspiration.

Today, SparkVoice campers did gratitude walks and took pictures of things inside or outside their homes that they are grateful for. Boosting our resilience one self-care tool at a time in these days without friends nearby or our usual routines. I’m grateful for the girls in our virtual camp showing up to honor themselves and listen to each other this week. I’m grateful for reusable water balloon joy. I’m grateful for tulips that reappear each year effortlessly. I’m grateful for the trees flowering. And, I’m grateful for friends who text me to check in.
