PLEASE READ AND SWIPE THROUGH!!
I’m happy to say that I’m working with @blmphotocollective by contributing one of my photos to be sold for donations to various organizations to support fighting racial injustices. Was that a run on sentence? Please, if you’re able and want to, go by a print by clicking the link in their bio! 100% of the proceeds are being donated. There are over 100 photographers who donated their work, so there’s a lot of options!! It’s honestly all really beautiful. I’m so happy to be apart of something like this.
Racial inequality is something that just doesn’t make sense to me. I can’t understand why anyone would think that the color of someone’s skin/how they look/who they are dictates their worth. It’s outrageous to me that US history books teach us that folks used to believe something life that so strongly, and the country was built on racism. It’s even more outrageous that we haven’t even grown from beliefs like that. There’s no good reason why in 2020 there should have to be protests or even a discussion. Things should have changed by now. Things need to change. As soon as they possibly can.
Anyway, keep doing what you can to fight for change. If you can buy a print to help out, amazing. If you can just donate a little bit directly to the organizations, wonderful. If you can go out and protest, fantastic. If all you can do is sit at home, share posts, and try to educate others, awesome. Do what you can. If we all work together, a change will happen. - 16 minutes ago
