I knew I had to make changes towards the end of last year, that I had to adjust my life.  I was always tired, I always felt like shit.  So googled CrossFit gyms and stumbled upon @crossfitxpb and man I didn’t realize how much I needed CrossFit.  Consistency and dedication are key ❤️ Over the last five months, I have lost 21 lbs, 2.9% body fat, and gained 1.6% muscle !!! I’ll take it

Whoever invented the term “motivated” should be yelled at 📣 .
I get the question all the time about how I stay motivated to....
.
Insert:
✅ work out
.
✅ eat healthy .
✅ work my business
.
Etc.,
.
Here’s the thing... I RARELY feel motivated to do anything... but I’ve created the discipline, routine and habits to push through ESPECIALLY on the days when I am feeling extra unmotivated— which is basically every day 😂😂😂😂
.
Below are my top three tips to help you keep going especially on those extra unmotivated days: .
1️⃣ have a set time every single day (planned out on Sundays for the week) that you were going to get that activity in. .
Kirk and I like to do morning work outs because it starts our day off right and we both know that if we leave it until later in the day we will for sure let other things keep pushing it back and end up not getting it done 🤷‍♀️
.
2️⃣ attach it to a reward or positive feeling once done. .
Make sure this reward does not include something that will ruin your results for that positive action. .
A good example is to focus on the feeling of accomplishment once that hard work out is done. Every time you choose the positive action over the negative one...your confidence in yourself goes up which in turn makes the next time you have to choose whether to do it or not a bit easier 👌🏻

3️⃣ remember your kids/loved ones are watching. .
YOU have the ability to inspire and help others every single time YOU show up for yourself and do that positive action. Your kids will see it, your spouse will see it, your friends will see it. By you continuing to show up, you are showing others what’s possible. .
Every day you’ll most likely have to remember those 3 tips above to get yourself to do the action. Doesn’t make you weak or mean that something is wrong with you. It means you’re perfectly normal 👌🏻 So just do the dang thing and move on 🙌🏻

Meine Sportroutine setzt sich aktuell aus intensiven Homeworkouts, Laufen, dem Verbessern meiner Flexibilität sowie täglichen Übungen des Handstands zusammen. Damit fahre ich aktuell sehr gut und ich sehe sogar Fortschritte bezüglich meiner Shape 🥳⠀

🏃I started running again when quarantine began and learned the hard way: don’t ramp up the running too quick, folks.
•
🏋️‍♂️I used to be a distance runner and frankly, I forgot I’m not anymore. Prior to quarantine, my routine weekly was this: 4 days of lifting and a single 45 minute day of cardio. Sometime the cardio was a HIIT class, sometimes it was a run, sometimes it was spin.
•
🦵Although the end of my distance running days was marked by knee injuries, my knee problems almost exclusively came during longer runs, almost always of more than 6 miles. So when my knees started acting up during shorter runs recently, I was confused. Then I remembered, I’m not a runner anymore…
•
📉My solution has been to cut down on weekly volume, and this week’s been much better in the knee department. I started quarantine with a 1 day on, 1 day off running schedule. Now I’m doing 1 day on, 2 days off.
•
❗️If you’re following along with my running program, here’s my recommendation.
•
🔸If you run once a week in real life, maybe boost it to twice a week.
🔸If you run twice a week in real life, you’ll probably be ok following the three days/week schedule as written, assuming you’re placing yourself in the correct level.
🔸Believe it or not, if you don’t run at all and you fall into the novice category, you’re probably a good candidate for the 3 day/week schedule as well. That’s because I designed the work for this level to be less about racking up the miles, and more about running “practice” and conditioning. If you aren’t just brand new to running but new to exercise in general, just keep repeating the mantra, “my goal isn’t to go fast, it’s just to show up.” You’ll get fast later.
•
I should also point out that I really should have written 15-20% of total time, not distance, and this percentage will drop. If you’re running longer distances and this feels like a big jump, feel free to drop this to 5-10%.
•

When I saw yesterday’s workout I couldn’t help but feel pure excitement for deadlifts. I’m on a mission to chase 315lbs this year... but what I’m holding in this photo is 26lbs. If you swipe right, thats 255lbs. It’s been a weird week of inconsistent workout times for me m and CrossFit has always been my anxiety/stress relief. I realized that it doesn’t matter what weight I’m picking up... it’s the fact that I am still moving. I hate working out solo (huge extrovert here). I’m actually really surprised that I am still moving. Why? Because I go to the gym to workout and go home. I work from home as it is. Verdant has made it possible to workout with my friends though from home and it makes it so much better! So grateful for Basile and his amazing team of coaches who continue to push all of us on a daily basis!

Gonna suck trying to get my squat up again after this, but I’m determined to get 225 this year 💪🏻 I’ve hit it before but with horrible form, my focus has been on gradual increase in strength with damn near perfect form. Looking back at my stage pics and prep pics feels like it’s been a lifetime ago since I’ve been prepping for a show. I’ve had to learn to shift my focus onto other things to keep my mind occupied and my body moving.

Wish we could all just wake up from the crazy dream we are living in right now 🌍 I feel so bad for those who were prepping for shows just to have them cancelled, for those who had their plan in place for 2020 and for the entire #fitfam community dealing with all gyms being closed. 😩 hold on to your dreams and goals during this time. Don’t give up we WILL get through this storm and look back just to realize how darn strong we actually are
