Kaijune Day 1: Ancient Artifact
Threat Level: 5
Deep in a forest in Mexico, a seemingly lone, Mayan Temple was discovered by well known archeologist Keith Gordon. While traversing through the temple, Gordon stumbled across a small statue of what appeared to be of an undocumented Maya diety. Gordon proceeded to take the statue from the temple, and back to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, for further study. After some extensive research, the beautiful artifact was put on display in hopes of attracting more visitors. However, merely 3 days after the statue was brought to the United States, the recently discovered Mayan temple began to rise out of the ground. A huge, man like, body appeared, and a head like structure sprouted from the top of the mountain. The research team was baffled as the lost temple they thought they discovered, turned out to be a dormant kaiju. The beast now known as Kligertu made its way up north to Los Angeles where it wreaked havoc across the city. The kaiju was fought off by the documented being known as Gytronix, but it failed to stop the creature. After Gytronix seemed to lose the battle with Kligertu made its way to the Museum. Gytronix appeared again not too long after it’s first battle only to proceed to steal the statue from the Museum to give it back to the beast. After this Kligertu made its way back to Mexico with the statue in hand, to its original resting place. It is unknown how Kligertu and the statue were linked, or how Gytronix knew that the statue would stop the monster. Since the incident the Los Angeles Museum has closed till further notice, and the Mexican government has Kligertu on lockdown, to prevent any further attacks. Despite the monster's man made appearance, it was discovered that the kaiju was made out of completely organic matter.
(Sorry for the delay on this one, these things take awhile, better late then never!)
