Beginning to End. #SmokedSnakehead
I've been pretty self sufficient in acquiring meat (venison, small game, waterfowl, fish etc.)... and these trying times have brought me to appreciate what I can acquire, and what I can do with what I have even more.
Long process from pulling a fish out the water to pulling em out the smoker.
Started with a few well placed arrows.. then gutted, brined and salted. The smoker I had is an old piece of shit so naturally I had to modify her a bit... then used really wood lump charcoal and soaked applewood pulp. Put a Snakehead on the bottom and one on the top rack with some local veggies from "the farmers daughter". Let her bellow smoke for about 5 hours and BAM... some banging food to share with a few friends all locally gathered.
This appreciation has also lead me to begin a garden so I need even less from others, while providing more for myself as well as share with others.
