One thing I find fascinating about parenting is just how different you can be from these little offsprings.
All three of my kids are "wired" way differently from me. And, when I'm not caught in the trenches of trying to get through the day or task at hand, I find it so intriguing and interesting.
I'm very process oriented. Methodical. Logical. I can run a DOE (design of exoeriment) with the best.
I enjoy math. 😳
I LOVE science.
Rah, STEM, rah!
And, Sweet Cheeks does NOT have any of those feelings for those subjects.
Homework duty was tough tonight.
She just wants the answer so she can be done.
And, i never capitulate. I want her to learn the process. Train her brain to think mathematically.
So there are tears usually. Frustration. And, I'm bewildered how the sequence and logic seems intangible for her. Because it feels so fundamental and concrete to me.
We eventually finished.
We felt relief it's done for the day.
The brain is a marvelous thing. How lucky we are to see and perceive the world in our own unique and nuanced ways. No two individuals alike.
There is tremendous beauty in that diversity.
And, I'm grateful for the gift of patenthood to remind and show me thst beauty through my kiddos.
