What we are living through is a multifaceted issue that involves many many factors in our lives. Let’s talk about the School to Prison Pipeline‼️ In schools, there is a culture of marginalizing and policing black and brown children at a higher rate than their white classmates. Many of these children come from impoverished communities where they experience various forms of abuse. 🗣Instead of providing them with the support they need to be successful in school, they are heavily targeted, punished and pushed out of school. When they’re pushed out of school, where do you think they are 3x more likely to end up in? PRISON‼️

This is my WHY. This is why we must continue. This is why I keep fighting for diversity in the education system and will ALWAYS be there to support my black and brown children. ✊🏾💛

Detachment 🖤

Things, people or series of events that leave you feeling uninspired, negative, and stuck, are signs that it is time to let go. Obsessing about insignificant things does not help anybody and leaves you in an unhealthy state of physical and mental health. 
Overburdening thoughts can appear while you’re trying to sleep, or work and can ultimately lead to you feeling burned out. 
When you have fully explored all options with an issue, then it is time to detach.
Hand over the problem to your highest good, pop it in your cupped hands and throw it up into the air for something more powerful to deal with.

💠 Where do you find the time to workout? 💠⁣

I have had this question pop into my dms quite a bit lately. Perhaps because it is one of the things people struggle with?⁣
⁣
And when you have kids, time becomes a premium so trying to find spare moments of it for fitness seem more difficult right? ⁣
⁣
Truth is it’s actually not about finding time at all. ⁣
⁣
We all have plenty of time when you think about it. If you have time to brush your teeth, to make dinner, to watch tv, to scroll through social media, to talk on the phone, then you have time for fitness. ⁣
⁣
Its not about finding time, it’s more about PRIORITISING FITNESS and making ADJUSTMENTS to your lifestyle because you have made it a priority. ⁣
⁣
💠Instead of saying ‘I don’t have the time.’ ⁣
⁣
💠Ask yourself ‘How important is fitness to me?’ then ask… ‘Now where can I make changes in my daily routine to fit some in?’⁣
⁣
So simple I know but it works. While I make dinner I do push ups on the kitchen bench. While I talk on the phone I go on the treadmill or do laps around the house. While I brush my teeth I do lunges and squats. While I play with Camilla I do Yoga. While I study I do RB pulses. It all adds up! ⁣

Trust me! Adjust your way of thinking and new opportunities will present themselves 😀

My ballroom bestie @marmakins started a 21 day fitness challenge today so you can bet I'm joining in on the fun! Marlee and I did ballroom dance together in both high school and college and I love her so much! She started posting workouts on her Instagram a while ago and I've already been using some, so I'm excited to do more for this challenge. Go check out her page and join in! A CTA is a call to action and yes, you need them. 
Do you remember The Princess Bride? The Man in Black tells Vizzini, “Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.” Vizzini replies, “ Wait till I get going!” My family quotes this to me all the time.
