FAKEAWAY FRIDAY, tonights fakeaway is KFC ZINGER TOWER BURGER, with a zingy dressing, served with homemade wedges, BBQ beans and coleslaw, I have eaten minimal today so I was ready for this bad boy, and it did not dissapoint.

I made the chicken by combining a number of spices together and some crushed cornflakes, I rolled dried off chicken breast in cornflour then egg then covered in dry mixture and airfryed each piece for 15 mins, turning half way through. I placed them on baking tray, and in the evening i cooked in the oven for a further 30mins on temp 200° along with my pre prepared wedges.

Dressing made with tomato sauce
Thai sweet chilli sauce 
Lightest Mayonnaise 
Squirt of garlic puree
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Pinch of salt
Mix together and hey presto.... 👌

When we lack purpose, we lack drive and that's why so many people lose motivation.
If you don't have a goal that you've written out and that's real, you'll have a hard time driving towards anything.

Challenges can be completing a fitness program, completing a nutrition program or just completing 30 workouts.

A challenge is a specific behavior you commit to for a specific period of time.
That's when I'm at my best. When I have a timeline and I am 100% clear on what I need to do to be successful, it's EASY to EXECUTE.

The first time I ever tried to lose weight, I ate ~ 700 calories per day.

I didn’t know better. I was 20yo, my sister was getting married & all I wanted was to make sure I looked good for her wedding.

I started w/ the Special K diet: for 2 weeks, you eat a bowl of cereal twice a day & eat one additional balanced meal. For that I chose to eat Lean Cuisine meals & would occasionally add a salad b/c I was DYING of hunger.

After those 2 weeks, I signed up w/ Weight Watchers. A level up from Special K, let me tell you, but still not the most ideal.

I learned how to obsess over every single calorie that entered my body.

I didn’t learn the importance of movement.

I learned to go hungry all day so that I could eat out w/ my friends for dinner.

I made some changes but I didn’t work on my mindset. I didn’t stop the emotional eating. I didn’t stop hating my body. I didn’t feel better. I didn’t learn how to connect w/ & listen to my body.

I’m sad for the 20yo me who really thought that this was the way to go.

Needless to say, I gained it all back & the biggest lesson I learned was to ask for the to-go box while ordering my meal.

The saddest part about this story is that it isn't just mine. It’s similar to the story of nearly every single client I’ve worked with.

Which is why my favorite thing to do as a fitness pro is show ppl that there is another way to approach weight loss & fitness.

It’s about learning to connect w/ your body. It’s about learning to listen to your body. It’s about learning to move your body, nourish your body, love your body & treat it with respect.

It’s not about diets & meal plans; it’s about eating a little bit slower, eating a little bit less, & adding in a lot more nutrient dense foods.

This is part of why I’m doing this free 5-day ALWAYS SOMETHING challenge - for you to try a different way. Try eating just a little slower & checking in with how your body feels. Try taking just a 5 minute walk. Try a better way, one that leads to life-long transformation rather than another yo-yo diet.
