🥞 THE WORLD’S BEST SOURDOUGH PANCAKES 🥞 // Zack and I got a sourdough starter (ours is from @kingarthurflour , and you can order it online!) early in our house arrest and we’ve been having the most fun playing with it to make bread, pancakes, and pizza crust.
I loooove sourdough—it gives a delightful tangy flavor, but it’s also a great way to eat all the bready treats in a form that’s way easier on your gut. The bacteria in sourdough essentially pre-digests the mix, making it easier to get the nutrients out of them. The fermentation process also eliminates the fructan and phytic acid in the grains, which often makes it comfortable to eat for people with gluten intolerances (although not full blown celiac). I, personally, have found that my gut feels much better after eating sourdough than after eating other types of bread, which often sit like a rock in my belly.
Zack is the sourdough master in our house, but the whole process is really easy (and you only need to buy your starter once, and it’s super inexpensive!!
