•Legs - HIIT workout•
Being in lockdown with very little equipment has meant any form of weightlifting has had to take a new stance. I can’t necessarily work on my strength (although I do try) but I can improve my overall stamina and level of fitness ready for when the gyms eventually reopen. I am very lucky in the fact that I have two 8kg dumbbells, lots of resistance bands and a 20kg powerbag but this doesn’t leave me with many options. 🤦‍♀️ I’ve started exploring different styles of HIIT and have found following a structure that combines strength and high-intensity keeps me motivated through to the end. 💪🏻

Let’s break it down:
•There are 6 exercises. •Complete each exercise for 40 seconds. •Rest for 20 seconds between each exercise •Once all 6 are completed rest for 1 minute. •Repeat until you have completed 6 rounds! ————————————————————————
I then follow this with Air Squats: •Work for 30seconds •Rest for 15 seconds •Repeat 8 times. ————————————————————————I’m not going to lie and say it’s easy...I’m often bright red and sweaty by the end of it but it has definitely improved my overall fitness and each time I feel slightly less out of breath.🥵 I’ve also found that this structure can be easily adapted to other areas of the body so keep an eye out for future posts. 👀

Focused on the abs for today’s HIIT session. 40 seconds of exercise with 20 seconds rest and repeat the routine 3 times. Did the mistake of doing this without a warm up so I really struggled with hip/leg movement. Still did it though and feel great for doing it

After yesterday’s huge NSV (a size small pair of leggings I ordered are too big) I felt motivated to smash workout 5 on cycle 3. Increased the weights by 2.5lbs so now lifting 17.5lbs each dumbbell! .
Smash was nearly the word as I slipped on the lateral side dbs and pulled my hip. Carried on working through and got a plank record 51 seconds up 11 seconds from last week. Hip is now sore so time to rest and ice it! Happy Saturday 😂

So yesterday I enjoyed myself... McDonald’s Big Mac complete with a Sharebox of 20 chicken nuggets, followed by cookie dough and a lotus Biscoff American waffle... only over my daily calorie allowance by 2,182! Good effort.

Woke up feeling guilty so @metafithq Dawn Wall it was. Enjoyed this one to be fair... Superman planks could do with some work and the press up thrusts were brutal! But I love a sprint finisher 🏃‍♀️ .

Abs are starting to look a little leaner.  No where near what they were but it’s a start... It is first thing in the morning though... those lines will be gone by 11am 😂
