Hoping everyone is doing well during these tough times!! This is no doubt a scary time for everyone and not being able to see the people that you miss just adds on more fear.
Its definitely hard to keep busy while abiding by the rules and keeping safe. This is a great time to do all the little things that you’ve said you wanted to do but never had the time. This is the time to call those friends who you don’t talk to enough. This is the time to slow down, sit in your backyard, and just be.
This is really hard for me to actually do. I am the type of person who always needs to be busy and surrounded by people. I get so anxious when I am alone with my own thoughts and I feel so alone and distant from myself. I fill up my schedule to keep busy so I don’t have time to think. This is not the ideal way to live and we should be using this time to slow down, to relax, to breathe and to try and connect with ourselves!
I go for morning walks as many morning as I can because they start off the morning on the right foot, get you focused, calm, and moving. At first, I was not relaxed at all, I felt rushed because that is how I am used to feeling. I couldn’t relax, walk, breathe and take in nature all at once! But I am slowly getting better and today, I didn’t feel that anxious, rushed pit in my stomach!! Bottom line is that we put too much pressure on ourselves everyday to try and do everything, to try and reach our goals faster than they can be achieved, and we try to be people that we aren’t. It won’t happen over night and we shouldn’t put pressure on ourselves, but we should try to do the little things we know will make us happy, to relax and to connect with ourselves and the world around us so we can finally feel in control, at peace and settled.
Find something that makes you happy and do it for even 15 minutes a day💕
