So you might be thinking to yourself why cans?
Recently my family was again trying to reduce waste products and plastic in Our household and mainly PANTRY. That’s the hardest part for Us, we are great about bulk products and growing Our own food and supporting local companies but we struggle with snack foods and MEAT. While we have significantly cut back on meat products and have vegetarian and vegan meals several times a week we still occasionally consume meat. Here in Oregon most of these products come laid on styrofoam and wrapped in plastic film. Doing a little research we found that cans have a VERY high recycling rate. Something like 80% of cans are recyclable, and have a 60 day turn around to bring BACK ON THE SHELF.
I love those numbers. So being a family already in love with SPAM (lived in Hawaii as a child!) we embraced a few more canned meat options. Now these are of course in severe moderation like meat already was for Us, and plated with whole grains and fresh vegetables.
So there’s the long explanation of ‘why cans’. When I was thinking of what I could use for a more regular candle container besides the vintage glassware this kept coming to mind until I just HAD to see it and hold it.
I think they’re absolutely goofy, eclectic and darling! Which is your favorite? - 5 minutes ago
