Home: my Hygge headquarters.
Nothing like relaxing on a snowy Friday night after a busy week with some candlelight, snuggled up in warm blankets enjoying a good read with relaxing music softly playing in the background.
It’s funny how when I was younger (then I am now I mean ;), I couldn’t wait for Friday’s to hit the town and dance the night away. Although I still enjoy these activities today, I have become more of a homebody for sure. Plus it takes me days to recover from one of those dance the night away evenings, lol.
Fun Hygge facts (for those that aren’t familiar with the term)
- pronounced “hoo-ga”
- Danish concept - feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life ....(very near and dear to my heart)
- a lifestyle trend
- candles are a great way to create a Hyggelic atmosphere at home...actually the books first chapter pretty much talks about the importance of light/lighting
- other things that could be considered Hygge are: fireplaces, throw blankets, hot drinks, crafting, baking, comfort food, togetherness, board games etc.
Let me know some of the ways you practice Hygge?
And happy start to the weekend Friends. - 22 minutes ago
