Today is the day 13 of my detox on a plant-based whole foods diet. What have I gained so far from this experience is that my bloating is completely gone, I lost unwanted weight, my sleep quality dramatically improved, my energy levels are up, and my skin is glowing! The side effects are gone, so it feels more like a routine now, not a diet.
My day on a detox usually looks like this:
Early morning: I wake up, dry brush my body then go for a 5k run.
Morning: I break my fast with lemon water then I have 16 oz of celery juice.
Twenty minutes later, I have my breakfast smoothie.
Midmorning: I snack on 16 oz of freshly squeezed fruit juice.
Lunch: Usually, it’s a nutrient-packed salad or a raw bowl.
Dinner: I most likely have vegetable soup.
Then I fast till morning. I also make sure to drink heaps of water to make sure that my body's detoxification systems are working at their best.
What I'm experiencing now reminds me of what I felt when I did my first 28-day cleanse—the feeling of empowerment and total harmony with my body and mind.
