They’re a great source of many nutrients, particularly potassium, magnesium, and B6. But really, I eat them bc they’re sooo delicious, convenient, and cheap! ❤️. We eat them almost every single day.

🤔Did you ever wonder what happens as they change in color? If so, here you go!
⠀
green —> yellow —> brown
as the 🍌ripens:
✅resistant starch content decreases
✅tastes sweeter - resistant starch turns into sugar
✅gets digested easier and quicker (causing a spike in the blood sugar)
✅some of the micronutrient levels decrease - happens with all produce to some degree once harvested
✅antioxidant levels increase

For babies and toddlers, really green #bananas may be too hard on their little tummies and can cause or make pre-existing constipation worse.
⠀
they are a great source of prebiotics though (check out my previous post). I purchase unripe banana and start offering it to Caleb when it is predominately yellow with a slight hint of green (as pictured). Yellow ones disappear ever so quickly around here, and the brown ones get used for baking 👍.

⏰if you want to speed up the ripening process, place in a brown paper bag. if you want to slow it down then place in the refrigerator. The peel will turn brown but the inner flesh will be just fine.

In between season shape: You don’t have to be constantly cutting or bulking. There is also something called “life” stage, remember the time when you were a kid and you didn’t care about your weight so much, you just ate whatever whenever you wanted? That, taken to a more health-conscious level is what my “off season” is. I eat when I am hungry and I make choices based on what will be good for my body. With the years I learned to understand what food does, what volume does, what fiber does, etc and now it’s easy to determine what and when I should eat something. Every day is different, I always decide on the spot what I want. This is also why you see me eat different things for breakfast and prep different meals for lunch and dinner. I don’t follow a nutrition plan right now. If I want to eat out, I eat out. If I want chocolate, I eat chocolate. I am conscious about the kcal I eat but they are not the main focus during the time in between preps. The main focus now is training - I train really hard and I treat every single session at the gym like a competition - you want to give your absolute best and nothing less. . 
And no, I am not shredded all year long and it shouldn’t be this way, if you want to improve, build and recompose your shape. That is what my “off” season looks like, I hate that word because a sports person never has an off season. A real sports person trains and eats right all life long because this is the way he/she lives. .

BAREBELLS WHITE CHOCOLATE & LEMON ROCKY ROAD BITES 🍋

I am soooooo excited to announce I am now working with @barebells.uk and going to be creating some more yummy bakes 👩🏻‍🍳 and treats on this page!
.
My sweet treat recipes have been few and far between recently but THATS ALL CHANGING 😋😋😋
.
Ingredients!
- 2 @barebells.uk lemon curd bars
- 100g white chocolate
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- a small handful of raisins
- 1 marshmallow flump (oh my good’ness - do you remember FLUMPS 😋)
- 3 digestive biscuits OR white chocolate Maltesers cut in half
.
1) start my melting 1/3 of the white chocolate and coconut oil in a medium sized bowl.
2) once melted, stir in the remaining ingredients (apart from the chocolate and half of one of the Barebells bars for decoration)
3) transfer the mixture into a lined tin and press down firm.
4) pour the remainder of the melted white chocolate on top.
5) cut up the remainder of your Barebells bar and sprinkle on top.
5) leave to set in the fridge before cutting into squares.

Store in the fridge unless you eat them all 🐽

BAREBELLS WHITE CHOCOLATE & LEMON ROCKY ROAD BITES 🍋 . I am soooooo excited to announce I am now working with @barebells.uk and going to be creating some more yummy bakes 👩🏻‍🍳 and treats on this page! . My sweet treat recipes have been few and far between recently but THATS ALL CHANGING 😋😋😋 . Ingredients! - 2 @barebells.uk lemon curd bars - 100g white chocolate - 1 tbsp coconut oil - a small handful of raisins - 1 marshmallow flump (oh my good’ness - do you remember FLUMPS 😋) - 3 digestive biscuits OR white chocolate Maltesers cut in half . 1) start my melting 1/3 of the white chocolate and coconut oil in a medium sized bowl. 2) once melted, stir in the remaining ingredients (apart from the chocolate and half of one of the Barebells bars for decoration) 3) transfer the mixture into a lined tin and press down firm. 4) pour the remainder of the melted white chocolate on top. 5) cut up the remainder of your Barebells bar and sprinkle on top. 5) leave to set in the fridge before cutting into squares. .
