These pics are from last Saturday. I blew my week by missing a nine miler on Friday. I just couldn’t wrap my head around a run. By Saturday, I felt even less inclined, but I know myself well enough to know that when I feel like running the least is when I most need to go run. I made it out the house. It didn’t help as much as I thought it would. The weather was so weird that it made the craziness of the world seem crazier. It “never” rains in the summer, and it had been super hot all week but Saturday was almost cold. It was windy and real drops fell from the sky. The whole thing kinda freaked me out. After I almost stepped on a giant, slithering snake, I found myself a short cut and hi-tailed it home.
◻️Sunday, I decided to salvage the month and do a 13 miler, so I could reach my 150 goal. It was just a slow, painful run. I wore a vest, but I forgot to pack water in it 🤦🏾♀️ The water fountain was contaminated by a person having a coughing fit. I ran nearly 14 miles on something like a sip of water. I pretty proud of myself for getting that run done. Even though the long run was legitimately terrible, it was kinda cathartic. I felt emotionally better once I got home. My kids refused to let me turn the TV on which was good too.
◻️Throughout my crappy run days, I have been following through on my stretching/hip routine. I’m seeing some subtle improvement.
◻️May goals met 💥 150 miles of base building & marathon pace run is coming along on schedule.
◻️What are your June fitness goals? Let’s speak it (ok write it) out loud. Mine is a 200 mile month in June. I want to have built my marathon pace run to 5 miles and to sprinkle in some fartleks. - 18 minutes ago
