The incident happened last Wednesday, 27 May 2020. When a pregnant elephant had left the forest Silent Valley in Palakkad district, and entered into a nearby village in search of food.
But kind man offered her pineapple not filled with love but with powerful crackers and that exploded in her mouth when she shewed on it.
Senior forest officer said on Tuesday, “ Her jaw was broken and she was unable to keep after the pineapple and feet exploded in her mouth”
And Mr. Krishnan wrote, “She didn't harm a single human being even when she ran in pain in the streets of the village, she didn’t crash a single home that’s why I said, she is full of goodness”
The elephant eventually to the Villiyar river and stood there perhaps for some relief from the unbearable pain. The forest officer said she must have done this to avoid flies and other insects on her injuries.
After hours of the attempts by the officials to rescue the elephant, she died at 4:00 p.m. on 27 May standing in the river along with the baby in her womb.
