Cheesy One-Pot Gnocchi w/Sausage & Spinach. Recipe via @mealime
Long winded below...
When I did a check of this app, I did a test run and it worked fine, but for some reason when I went to do it this time, it wasn't importing the shopping list into Dillons and I had to do it manually, which defeated the purpose. Hopefully, it was a temporary glitch.
Anyway, it's a free app (of course, there's a choice to upgrade to pro recipes), but you choose your meals/recipes and create a meal plan, from that meal plan it generates a shopping list based on your serving size. Then it connects you to a Kroger family store (Dillons for my area), Walmart, or Instacart. Imports that shopping list to one of those and then takes you to that app. In the grocery store app you can adjust quantities, swap items out, and/or add other things. And depending on your grocery store you can do delivery or pickup for a fee. Luckily, Dillons has both options, and for pickup the 1st 3 pickups are free! Thereafter I believe it's around $5 for pickup and $10 for delivery.
The Mealime app also gives an approximate food waste savings analysis on your meal plans, which is pretty neat to see.
This actually worked out well. I can see doing it this way without necessarily having to sticking with one recipe app, I can handle manual entries 🙃
The food was good, I think instead of increasing the serving size to 4, I'll stick with 2 and just increase ingredient quantities as necessary.
