I love to come home just as much as I love to travel. Some tips for less stress while preparing for a trip that work for me.
1) Deep clean before you leave. I deep clean every so often anyway, so I’ll schedule a deep clean around the date of my departure. There is nothing like coming home to a perfectly clean space. Traveling can be hectic and most likely you’re out of your routine. A clean space will give you a fresh start to getting your life back in order.
2) Pack intentionally. It takes time, but saves you way more time during your trip (picking outfits to wear) and makes unpacking easy. Only bring what you need. Plan your outfits for each day.
2) Pack as light as possible. If you can, do a load of laundry while your away. This will allow you to pack extra light by repeating a couple outfits. When you’re traveling you’re most likely going new places each day. No one knows what you wore yesterday ;) and even if they do - who cares?
3) When you get back home, immediately put your dirty clothing in the hamper and unpack right away. Even if it’s late. You’ll go to sleep in your clean bed with nothing extra on your to-do list the next day. You’ll sleep easy.
