Brief sightseeing, from a part of Delphi, Greece:
1. The "treasury of the Athenians", one of the most impressive monuments in the sanctuary.
A characteristic structure in Delphi is the treasury, small temples dedicated by the city-scapes. These were both permanent ambassadors for the presence of their dedicators and the proof of their power and were also used to house their valuable offerings. The 1st offerings come from aristocrats and later from a whole city-state, like this one at the photo.
2. The "Stoa of Athenian". Another Athenian building, that was built to mark victories in the Persian Wars, with 7 marble columns. The large lettered-inscription (ΑΘΕΝΑΙΟΙ ΑΝΕΘΕΣΑΝ ΤΕΝ ΣΤΟΑΝ ΚΑΙ ΤΑ ΗΟΠΛΑ ΚΑΙ ΤΑΚΡΟΤΕΡΙΑ ΗΕΛΟΝΤΕΣ ΤΩΝ ΠΟΛΕΜΙΩΝ) on the stylobate inform us that inside the stoa there was a display of weapons of some enemy.
