When I left for S Korea, I said I was going to get my diet in check. It’s been almost 2 months now and I haven’t done anything to improve it. In fact, it’s probably gotten worse. ⁣
I decided that I wanted to take some time out to get it right. Macros are too much for me right now and with the DFAC cooking the majority of my meals, i don’t think I want to go that route. So I decided to go back to something I’ve had great results with before. ⁣
I’m going to be using these containers to track my food. ⁣
It’ll go something like this:⁣
8 green (vegetables)⁣
5 purple (fruits)⁣
7 red (protein) ⁣
5 yellow (carbs)⁣
1 blue (healthy fats)⁣
1 orange (seeds & dressing)⁣
8 tsp (oils & nut butters) ⁣
⁣
In addition to this, I’ve decided to do #75hard. I’ve contemplated about it for a while and decided just to go for it! ⁣
I think I’ll nail the water. I already drink a gallon almost daily. ⁣
I already consistently work out at least 5 days a week for 45-90min. Adding in a 2nd is going to be tough. ⁣
The diet is going to be tough. I love food. But I’m tired of spinning my wheels. I’ve done it for 21 days before. Now i just need to commit. I’m sure when i see changes I’ll be over the moon! ⁣
10 pages should be fairly easy. It’s just all about prioritizing. ⁣

I am working a panama shift right now. I think that this will be tough working 12 days and doing 2 workouts but it’s literally just me here that I’m responsible for. There is no better time than now! ⁣

A lot of people ask me how I consistently hit my protein goal which is 180g a day.

1. It starts with a balanced breakfast which includes an egg + egg whites + ham or another meat + protein coffee (today’s a pumpkin spice latte).
2. I then log it. I don’t obsess over logging my food. It’s not perfect but it’s accurate enough to keep me on track.
3. At every meal I make sure I am eating protein.
4. I eat 5-6 small meals a day all of which have some source of protein.

Why is it important? Protein kicks your body into an anabolic state which in turn helps your burn fat. The more balanced your protein is the more likely you will feel fuller, hit your goals and even have more energy.

As I look around during the virus I see a lot of things. Some good, some bad.
.
Lost money, lost jobs, suicides will go up etc...
.
What we are failing to realize is simple. .
A lot of these people were already on the edge.
.
Emotionally, financially, physically, and really in general they have a hard time dealing with the world when it isn't "their way". .
Fragile people die when there is volatility in the world. It's nature at it's finest and worst. .
Just as the true colors of a lot of people show up for the worst(you know who you are) a lot also show up for the better.
.
Everyone could have been working on being less fragile. Less exposed to life kicking them where it counts.
.
But that takes work. And it also takes less finger pointing, unless it's in the mirror.
.
Now and then nature, God, or whatever throws a curve ball to see if you are paying attention. So don't be pissed when you are caught unprepared. .
Learn the lesson and don't let it happen again.
.
But most of all be thankful for what you have, it can ALWAYS be worse.

The scale isn’t everything. Dont be misled by it and dont let it get you down.

Something that I think is more beneficial than the scale is clothing.

Find those pants or shirt or dress that you want to fit into. 
_

Trust me that it will give you a very accurate measurement because:(wait for it) “hips dont lie” (nailed it)

_

For serious tho. It works. I know these pants are ugly or what ever, but its our personal journey. 
_

Your journey is unique to you, its not always sexy, not always fun and worst yet; it will feel like nobody cares. 
_

But even if all of those things were true.... make sure that YOU CARE. 
_

Define your why and reassess it from time to time to make sure you aren’t deviating. 
_

And, dont forget to help others around you. It can be a scary lonely journey, so make sure that you offer up what you’ve learned. 
_

The human race is a team.

As we endure this uncertainty today and all days to come, let us not lose sight of our why and purpose. In fact let us develop it more!
Let us rise to the occasion and stay strong. Let us care not what we are called by the fearful. Let us uplift them with upturned palms and be righteousness in our actions.
The harsh realities are vast and many, many people have written off hard work and perseverance for a short sale. 
There is no merit or truth in the path of fear. There is only suffering and terminal consequences.
We all have within us the strength to rise above the darkness in this world.
And far too often people choose to just graze with the mediocre, with this path comes hate and double standards and worse of all “keepers” that are less than great but more than mediocre. The mouthpiece of mediocrity all in their own vanity.
This is morally incorrect by my assessment. 
Gladly I will be outcast. Lest I will lose my identity in a sea of suits.
Be the light. Be the difference, become opportunity and change. Lead the broken and the blind from this path.

As you can see the bowflex didn’t quite fit in the house, so I haves ledges it against the ceiling and will be using it in this position. The thought of it tumbling over and crushing me makes the workouts that much more exciting! -
Here’s a little clip from Back/bicep/rear delt day today. The weight numbers are different than your typical weights because the bowflex uses resistance tubes making the tension greatest at the contraction portion of the movement.
