I didn’t ask for isolation. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone with their own business or small children in a high-rise apartment or a major health problem not affected by Coronavirus. Life has suddenly come to a screeching halt and although I can’t meet my friends, my fringe is in my eyes and SisterStay is built around a community of women who like to travel, I am coming to enjoy this strange period of calm and reflection. I realised early on that panic was not helpful, but now I also realise that a slow-down was inevitable - almost overdue. OK, maybe not this much of a slow-down! But a time to think about what’s really important. A time to smell the roses. I’m enjoying being with my family and providing help in my local community. I’m taking time to improve my fitness and I find I am putting a little more thought into my dinners. Yesterday, I received a hand-written letter from a friend which was such a welcome surprise. And when all this is over, I will definitely rethink how I can build the SisterStay community without spending so much time in front of a screen!
Are there any silver linings for you?
