Why would you want to eat low carb?
Let’s first differentiate between carbohydrate foods. There are refined carbs and complex carbs.
Refined are great for spiking your blood sugar and insulin. Complex carbs (fruits and vegetables) are great because they include some fiber that helps with satiation and not spiking your blood sugar and do not affect your insulin as much as refined sugar (candy, bread, pasta, rice).
Lower or eliminate refined carbs to avoid blood sugar and insulin spikes. Too much insulin is why you can’t drop weight. Insulin is a hormone that sends a signal to your body to store fat. When you are diabetic and require insulin AND your doctor tells you to drop weight and you can’t, guess why?
