Heute habe ich es getan: nach sechs Wochen #lowfodmap und #weizenfrei , habe ich einen Berliner probiert. Es sah einfach soooo lecker aus 🙈
Und wisst ihr was: es war echt nicht umwerfend 🤷🏼 nach nur sechs Wochen Verzicht, dachte ich " ja, so n Weizenzeug, fühlt sich beim Essen schon schwer an". wie gut, dass ich es probiert habe, dann fällt der Verzicht jetzt ganz leicht -  egal wie gut es aussieht.
Und meine Darmflora freut es auch 🙃

When I was in highschool I used to wear sweatshirts everyday. Skin tight jeans and a cute top... aaaand then a sweatshirt over it. I’d look at all my friends and constantly wonder why they didn’t bloat after eating. It used to drive me crazy, keep me up at night, I’d cry myself to sleep. I began to believe I was F A T and started to eat less and though my jean size went down I still always needed that sweatshirt for after I ate anything.

Why am I sharing this? Because someone I look up to very much asked me “what are you using your instagram for?” And that just really hit me. I come on every day and share my recipes that bring me such joy but I ignore the one thing that I wish someone had told me years ago…

I was devastated when I got the IBS diagnosis.  But I am slowly learning how to cook vegan & low FODMAP and I now have hope that I will enjoy amazing vegan food again.
This carrot, parsnip, potato and ginger soup is so absolutely delicious!!! I am obsessed.  And low FODMAP bread or crackers and a great addition.

My story with going from a “normal” to “overweight” BMI 👇🏻⠀

When I first lost my period years ago, my doctors told me I was a “normal BMI”, to continue my “healthy” eating and exercise routine, and slapped me on the birth control pill 💊 to “regulate my cycles” - which allowed me to continue to restrict/binge for 4 more years all while pretending I was the picture of fitness and health. I felt hopeless and like a fraud, daily.⠀

When I finally realized that I was NOT healthy with no period unless on the pill, constant anxiety 😢 and weekly binges, digestive issues + nutrient deficiencies, and a rigid relationship with the gym 🏋🏼‍♀️ - I felt afraid that letting of restriction in order to fix these things would mean becoming “overweight”. I felt angry 😡 that I couldn’t just be healthy at a “normal” weight and this made me second guess my food choices 🍟 in my food freedom journey.⠀

Thankfully, with time and support, I learned that a healthy weight is relative. What is “normal” based on BMI standards may not be normal and healthy for ME (or you). I started to feel accepting and loving towards my body & this allowed me to trust it to do what it needed in order to get my period ❤️ back and make peace with food.⠀

Now I teach other women to do the same - in my ✨1:1 coaching program✨ I help you eat enough for YOUR body regardless of your starting weight, so you can get a natural period back, overcome binge eating and find 🌈 long-term peace with food. ⠀

Pull up a memory where you got something you really really wanted. Maybe that was the feeing when you got a job, found out you were pregnant, got accepted into University, or began a relationship with someone you really liked. How does it make you feel?

Take a few breathes while you feel this and inhale up from your feet all the way to the top of your head, then exhale from the top down. Do this breathing three times.

Now imagine something you want to have right now. Does your energy change? Do you lose the feeling of winning that felt so good? Switch between the thought of the thing you want and the excited feeling you had. Go back and forth until it starts to blend together and finally you can feel the excited good feeling when you repeat what you want today. This is a high level manifesting technique and I hope you give it a try!

While I am super into the complete absence of bloating after just one day of it, I felt like total shit all day and this morning (and have numerous restrictions within carnivore b/c I am hardcore lactose and dairy  intolerant and do not eat red meat). So I have a new plan for this 7 day #carnivorecrushers challenge. (Please don’t be mad at me, team. I’m trying to take care of this weird body.) THE PLAN: #cleanketo and #lowfodmap  Ideally one meal with veggies, like my usual breakfast over there, sans keto bread, one meal carnivore or super low carb. 7 days at least. This will make it sustainable for me and incidentally is how I want to eat 90% of the time, allow me to do my job (I’m a college Professor, so brain fog/spacey-ness is a real problem), run when my tatt butt swelling dissipates, and not have a keto baked goods bonanza/meltdown when it’s over because I feel miserable and restricted. So ... what can you eat while following a FODMAP friendly diet?

Well firstly, you need to avoid foods HIGH in FODMAPS (remember, these are foods that contain short-chain carbohydrates that may be poorly digested by some people and irritate the bowel triggering IBS symptoms). You must eliminate these foods from your diet and replace them with LOW FODMAP foods for the duration of the diet. There are still lots of healthy and nutritious foods to choose from!

The low FODMAP diet is scientifically researched and developed by scientists at Monash University in Australia as an approach for managing patients with gut disorders including irritable bowel symptoms.

For a condition that is considered by some to be trivial, as it's non-life threatening, the fact that a quarter of people with IBS would give up approximately 15 years of their life is important. And horrifying.

IBS is much more than irregular bowel habits and abdominal pain. The repercussions related to the symptoms lead to a substantial loss in quality of life. 
Being afraid of what to eat, worries about being productive at work, not being able to go places without a bathroom (81% of people with IBS-D avoid these situations), losing time with family and friends along with a whopping 60% of patients having fatigue - well beyond the average population, this is more than a minor inconvenience or trivial. 
It's socially isolating

It's a dietary nightmare

It doesn't allow a person to trust their body

And it causes a mental and physical drain on those affected.

Luckily, it can be better. New research can now help us guide many people with IBS back to a healthier, normal state that even allows for foods to come back to the diet.
