I continously get asked about diet and the proper "warrior" nutrition, or how to change your physique for maximum performance.
Fact is, nutrition like everything else (breathing or living for example) has become insanely complex and filled with politics and and belief systems so that there is no "one size fits all". Here are a few key concepts:
a) fasting: regular fasts (up to 24h) were continously used to cleanse the digestive system and align the body with the mind (shugyo). Here is an update: The majority of us does not need to snack every 2h or eat 7 small meals a day.
b) whole foods: Vegan, keto, omnivore, carnivore and bullshitore. Eat whole foods and keep the protein intake in the higher spectrum. If you feel like shit, perform like shit and look like shit.... you might eat like shit. (old buddhist teaching)
c) eat to fuel: This is a hard one. Don't eat out of convenience or boredom. Eat to fuel your body and change your outlook on food. 98% of people have no idea how full or empty their "fuel tank" actually is.
d) for christ sake.... stop eating sugar.
