Easter Plans 🐣. Got any?
Hiro declared yesterday that if the Easter Bunny didn’t show up on Sunday then he would know it’s me. 🐰😬 So of course I picked up a few bags of candy, plastic eggs, and 2 chocolate bunnies today on my weekly grocery run for a backyard Easter egg hunt on Sunday. Because The Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and The Tooth Fairy are REAL! Full Stop. 🤨
I also want to offer up my recipe for the most indulgent, delicious baked french toast which HAS to be assembled the night before (aka sleeping in) 🙌🏽! I loved teaming up with @MagnoliaBrandMilk to create this dreamy ✨Tres Leches Concha Baked French Toast ✨dotted with chocolate chips and orange-scented strawberries. It has that unmistakable silky tres leches base made with Magnolia® Sweetened Condensed Milk, whole milk, and cream. Save this post because you’ll need this recipe:
Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Slice 1 pound of strawberries and mix with ¼ cup brown sugar and the zest from 1 orange.
Whisk together 6 eggs, 2 tsp cinnamon, 2 tsp vanilla, 1 can Magnolia® Sweetened Condensed Milk, ¼ cup milk, ½ cup cream.
Break 7 conchas into large pieces and place them in the dish. Spoon strawberries over conchas. Pour milk mixture over everything. Sprinkle ½ cup chocolate chips on top. Cover with plastic and refrigerate overnight.
Next morning: Heat oven to 375°F. Remove plastic wrap. Slice ⅓ cup butter and sprinkle over top. Bake 40 minutes. Serve with powdered sugar and whipped cream.
