Just finished filming our Thursday workout and it is all triceps. I don't usually train just Tris or just Bis but we like to switch it up a bit at @bloomflourishfitness. I love the feeling of pushing my muscles during a workout and then the feeling of tightness afterwards. Then the soreness the next day. I love being able to do one more rep than I was able to do last time. I love flexing in the mirror and seeing more definition or growth. It may sounds strange, but you have to learn to love the pain. Your body is capable of so much more than you think. #nopainnogain💪

There is a quote that I love and it goes “when babies take their first step and fall, we praise them for that first step. We don’t criticize their fall. We adults could learn a lesson here. We spend more time criticizing our falls and not enough time applauding our small steps”▫️

That quote is the truth. I had to become uncomfortable to learn how to take small steps into becoming a better version of myself. I always wanted to work on myself more but I never would or wanted to because I was comfortable where I was.▫️
•
We as humans learn so much from our hard times and falls – who we are, what we can work on, who is there for us, what works and what doesn’t. I fell down and I learned more about myself than I ever have, I learned that I was “love”, I found comfort in asking people for help, I found out it’s ok to say you’re not ok, I saw compassion from many and I was able to clearly see that things happen for a reason even if you don’t understand them at the time.▫️
•
All of that has led to where I am today – happier knowing that I am a better version of myself than I was a month ago or even a year ago. I am thankful of my hard times in life and I am also thankful of my hard times in running. I am thankful of my hard times because they are the ones that make you and let your become the best damn version of yourself.▫️

So next time please stop feeling ashamed of how many times you have fallen down. Remember all the times you’ve got back up and dusted yourself off. Those are the moments that will make you.▫️

I heard someone say that to me years ago and it cut me to my core.  Because at the time I was an absolute mess.⠀
⠀
Like, never pick up the phone when friends call, drink a bottle of wine nightly, live for the moment I can crawl back into bed, mess.⠀
⠀
I was a shell of the person I had always been.⠀
⠀
And my kids were getting old enough to see it.⠀
⠀
There was a day, standing in the kitchen making dinner, mindlessly stirring the taco meat in the skillet, when my oldest son walked by and said “Mommy you always have that face”.⠀
⠀
“What face?” I asked.⠀
⠀
“That sad face”.⠀
⠀
I felt a lump in my throat because for the first time I realized my kids may be young, but they weren’t  blind.⠀
⠀
Finding myself again didn’t happen overnight.  It wasn’t just a quick decision.  It took months of facing inner gremlins, it took tough conversations, and it took feeding myself with positive brain food every moment I could. Along with therapy and medication but that’s a whoooole notha’ post! 😉⠀
⠀
You probably go cross eyed hearing me talk about “mindset” or seeing my stories every morning showing my book pages and quotes.  Because I’ve learned your mind is a muscle you must strengthen daily.⠀
⠀
I protect my positivity like my life depends on it.  I built my confidence back up and I’ll be damned if I allow it to sink back down.  I found a new best friend, an incredible human being, she’s pretty badass and I’m so blessed to know her.⠀

She’s ME.⠀
⠀
And I will ensure with every fiber of my being that my kids grow up watching their mom love herself so hard that it comes natural they do the same for themselves.⠀

Because no matter how tough the seasons are...they are temporary.  I promise.  But the strength, the confidence, and the grit that is built through those storms? Those will last forever ❤️ ⠀

If you don’t know how to do something, find someone who does. It’s ok to have people on your team that are more skilled than you. You will learn and grow just by being in their Company.
