Overwhelmed🖤
I still feel every hair stand on my body when the anxiety tries to take hold. I’ve learnt to step back from the thoughts that want to run away with themselves. It’s easier than said than done, but I’m starting to manage it so much better. 
It can be the littlest of things - a doctors appointment, a difficult conversation with someone, feeling like we never have enough time, sometimes just feeling overtired and not having the energy 🖤

I’ve worked so hard to get my mind to work with me on this. We get it. We see it. We here it. Me and the inner Rhay sit and go ‘nope, that’s not serving me and so I’m taking a step back and I’m channeling the positivity of it and turning it around.’ Now I see every opportunity as a way to move it into a place that I am happy and comfortable with. Every challenge placed now because a lesson I learn rather than something I’ve to overcome. It’s all about perspective ✨ 
So I sit and I write, I journal, I get my worries down on paper and I write the way I could create a better outcome for that specific challenge. I appreciate that it won’t always be an immediate result, but I’ll be patient for the desired outcome 🖤

Heya. For those who have seen my story (ptw on it though) you’ll know that yesterday and last night were not a good time for me. And I’m being honest about it because sometimes on here, I certainly can feel like I’m not recovering ‘well enough’ because everyone documents the good times - which is fine, don’t get me wrong. But I feel like the downs are important to acknowledge too. We all know recovery isn’t linear. Some set backs are harsher than others, and last night really threw me. I received texts from the Samaritans missing persons line and I was just so confused and so so so low. I was out in like 2 degree weather in a t shirt. Mental illness is tough. So so tough. And I’m not going to sugarcoat it, and I’ll tell you that lately I’ve not been feeling my brightest. Thoughts have been dark and gloomy.
Mood has been low and snappy. I’m finding it hard to remember that I don’t ~always~ feel this rotten. On a day to day basis for now though, I’m just going to try and look after myself as best I can. Sometimes that’s all we can do. 🍃

We’ve been taught that fear is bad. But in reality, fear is GOOD.

Fear is what pushes us and makes us grow IF (and only if) we accept it and run with it.

Be scared and do it anyway.

You know what my biggest fear is?

Being in the same place tomorrow as I am today. That is why I live the life of my dreams. Because I run with fear, and I make my life the life of my dream every single day.

✨The year is only 28 days in but I feel as if this is the most magical year of my life. Not for anything that has happened to me externally , but for everything that is happening within my heart and soul.
.
I have strived so long to be the kind of woman that I admire. The women that I have admired the most in my life required so little from their surroundings but gave of themselves to a degree of sheer exhaustion with a smile that caught my eye from the deepest of dark places that I have found myself in.
.
Many strive to be more of something but I feel as if my goal was to be less. Less....wanting.
.
Through journaling, meditation, sharing with you, taking part in deep and miraculous conversations, and simply taking time to breathe on my mat...I have found a way to dig up anchors that have weighed me down for years.
.
Anchors can come in all forms and shapes. We all have them and they weigh us down. For me, my anchors were absolutely killing me slowly. Killing my creativity, my heart, my freedom and my ability to see the world with a clear vision.
.
These anchors kept me in a state of victimhood. I think one of the most alarming things that I realized is that I made the choice to stay there. For too long. I refuse to be a victim any longer.
.
Anchors can be trauma, anchors can be not forgiving someone who has wronged you, anchors can be materialism and feeling the need to be a certain way to others, anchors can be stress and anxiety of a certain issue or situation, and anchors can even be wanting to help/save someone you love but cannot (through no fault of your own).

One of my favorite meditations of this month was to simply sit on my mat and pretend to dig up these anchors that weigh me down. Each and every time I came up for air, I felt lighter. The anchors loosened with every mental pull and they have been released.

We will always have anchors. And that's ok. Just remember that we can always pull ourselves out if we truly wanted to. The question is, do you truly want to heal? And if so, what are you waiting for?

Exercising has been beneficial to my mental and physical health. It keeps me sane. According to Mayo Clinic the type and amount of exercise varies depending on your goals,  but they suggest as a general rule 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day. It doesn’t have to be hitting the gym. Look for something you enjoy, such as, dancing, tennis, running, walking, martial arts, soccer, and basketball, etc. Something fun that gets you moving.

Grounding: a specific coping strategy that is designed to "ground" you in, or immediately connect you with, the present moment. The technique of grounding is helpful whenever you feel overwhelmed or carried away by depression, anxiety or flashbacks. .
