How are you doing? Tired? Anxious? Over-extended? .
There is so much right now. And there’s no right way to feel about it. Today, I hope to spark a little reminder to tell yourself regularly - YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB RIGHT NOW.

Imagine with me - a dear friend of yours is having a rough time. All within the past few weeks:
.
-she relocated for work
-started on a virtual team
-became a teacher (on the side)
-she’s cooking more than double time (and cleaning too)
-all of her usual comforts are unavailable
-her relationships have all become long-distance
-there are no real routines in her life, everything is grey, nebulous and uncertain
.
Sound like a lot?  That’s just the beginning. I know you and those around you are juggling even more. .
What would you say to her? Really think about it. ✨THEN TELL THAT TO YOURSELF ✨

Self-compassion is an amazingly powerful tool. We often have the highest expectations for ourselves AND we are our worst critics. Which only adds insult to injury as you’re truly dealing with a lot right now.

Would you ever ask that dear friend - “Why can’t you get it together?” “You keep dropping the ball.” “Why haven’t you figured out an exercise routine yet?”
.
Then STOP telling yourself that! Give yourself some latitude and see what magic happens. ❤️

MOIST CHOCOLATE CAKE- NO EGGS, NO BUTTER

INGREDIENTS

1 ½ cup + 2 tablespoons (200 grams) all-purpose flour sifted

1 cup (200 grams) granulated sugar

⅔ cup + 1 tablespoon (75 grams) unsweetened cocoa powder sifted

4 teaspoons (16 grams) baking powder

1 ¾ cup + 2 tablespoons (450 ml) soy milk or dairy milk

2½ tablespoons (35 grams) vegetable oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

powdered sugar for dusting

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees C (320 degrees F). In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder.

In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon until just combined.

Don't over-mix!

Pour the batter into a greased and floured 22 cm (8 inch) pan.

Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool the moist chocolate cake on a wire rack and dust with icing sugar before serving.

Missing being free 🌬🌾

I always long for nature, movement and exploration. I was the weird kid who would talk to the flowers and say hello to the butterfly’s and bees (still do, don’t care). Going out with a metal detector hunting for treasure in the fields was a norm in my family, and staying silent and still in the woods looking for fairies was a daily occurrence 🧚🏻‍♀️
.
I know in the grand scheme of things me missing nature is so ridiculous, but I can’t help how much I yearn to be immersed by natural surroundings and how much being contained in four walls seems to suppress my true self. It’s probably why I feel heartbreak so strongly when I see trapped animals. If this situation hasn’t opened anyone’s eyes to their suffering, I don’t know what will!

Going to make more of an effort to take longer daily walks from tomorrow and try to leave the sense of fear at the door!

Relax and restore as we focus on the quads in this session. It’s important to treat your body in a relaxed way. Your parasympathetic nervous system is imperative for both healing and de-stressing.

🍃Seguramente todos arrancamos con un alto nivel de compromiso, pero luego de varios días de encierro, sostener el optimismo puede ser que se torne cuesta arriba.

🍃 Los recursos pueden ser limitados, pero tu interior no lo es.

Y sentir que perdemos el control sobre lo que pasa o que tambalea de un día para el otro la estructura de la vida que teníamos armada, puede aumentar nuestro nivel de estrés.

Para acallar los pensamientos que te generan ansiedad es clave que, ahora más que nunca, elijas vivir conscientemente.

🍃Sabiendo que hablar sobre tus emociones, es sanarlas. 
Dedicarte a escribir y agradecer un ratito cada día cambia automáticamente tu forma de ver las cosas.

🍃Porque la gratitud es el mejor antídoto para el miedo.
. 🍃Y si a eso le sumás, una concienca anclada en el presente, una alimentación saludable, un buen descanso, mantenerte activo, en contacto con tus vínculos, con la naturaleza...esta cuarentena puede resultar un desafío interesante de aprendizaje para tu ingenio.
