🔆 the biggest gift isolation has given me is a new morning routine. wake up at sunrise. drink water (or, more recently, turmeric-ginger-lemon juice in warm water). have a couple cups of coffee. move. walk the dog. meditate.
i thrive on routines. but it find it hard to develop one. it takes a long time to figure out what works best, and by the time i do, it’s about time to change it again due to the seasons, my work location, or something else new and different.
i love my new morning routine, but i’m plagued with preemptive irritation and anxiety about having to change it again when dc opens and we go back to the office, or when we move to a new place.
〰️change is the only constant.〰️ i repeat that to myself a lot. and each time i develop a new routine, i learn something new about myself that makes it quicker to create a new one next time.
each change brings new lessons, big or small. you’re never really starting from square one. ✨
