Bryan and I skipped a lot of big events—like an engagement party and wedding—but having a baby shower was non-negotiable. I just wanted a day to celebrate with friends and family because this journey has been rocky and I wanted to focus on the positive ahead on my terms, meaning no games, no opening of gifts, no shower things. Just a day to hang out and catch up with the people who mean the most.
There were some who sadly couldn’t make it and peeps I wish I had taken photos with 😩 That said, these photos fill my heart with so much joy—these friendships are all so different and meaningful to me.
Pic one is with my bestie, someone I’ve known since I’m 4 (maybe 5?) years old and her hilarious wife. Scroll right and I’m with my work peeps from two separate jobs—the women I turned to when I needed to vent, who brought me coffee and laughter and the happiest moments on the darkest days. The Hoboken girls who still make time and effort to get together for sushi and 🍷. My mom—a woman who drives me insane with her weird Germanisms but the strongest, most resilient woman I know. My heart—the man who is on this journey with me for better or worse—life is better with you ❤️ and Bryan’s family bc they supported + helped in big, little, and unexpected ways. Also favors and cake topper to show off our woodland creature theme 🦊 🐿 🦝 🦉 🐻
Thank you. Whether you were there in person or in spirit, know that we love you and can’t wait to introduce you to our little peanut! - 12 minutes ago
