Volunteer Opportunity with OVLC Sunday, 12/15 from 1-4pm. YOU MUST RSVP in comments or DM. We are going to meet at the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy office at 1pm. Additional important information is below:
Getting to the meeting place: The OVLC office is located at 370 W Baldwin Rd, building A4. If you enter the address into Apple or Google maps, there is a chance the directions will take you up Rice Rd behind the complex, which is a part of the old Honor Farm. From the corner of Rice Rd and Baldwin Rd, head southwest on Baldwin Rd and take the first left where you will see signs for Help of Ojai and Ed's Recycling. After turning off of Baldwin Rd, turn right to go through the gate and then we are in the back of the complex so follow the signs for Ojai Valley Land Conservancy and/or call Brendan if you need assistance (805-212-0445). What to bring: There is poison oak in the area, so long pants are required and long-sleeve shirts recommended. Closed-toed shoes are also required for this project. Additionally, please bring snacks and water. It is recommended that you also bring:
- Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunblock)
* You should expect to get dirty, so don't wear nice clothes!
What we will be doing: After meeting at the office at 1pm, we are going to carpool to the south end of the Canal Rd on the Ventura River Preserve. We will then hike to our work site on the Allan Jacobs Trail where we will work on building the new bridge. We will return to the OVLC office by 4pm. #Volunteer #watershed #fixourparks #nationalparkgeek #nationalparktrust - 40 minutes ago
