This little fella wandered into the dog kennel area of Ruff House Boarding. What could have turned into a circus with dogs running around the pens was handled quickly and gracefully by the boarding supervisor. This young raccoon, also known as a kit, looks to be about 10 weeks old. We affectionately call them “Trash Pandas.”
Mother raccoons can have between two to five babies in a litter, and they typically have just one litter per year in early spring between March and April. If a mother's first litter does not survive, she may give birth to a second litter as late as June.
