Cajun 😁 congee (jook) on a rainy Monday. I ate this every morning for 2 weeks in China. Very nourishing. Recipe: https://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/rice-congee-soup-jook. Very good for digestion, supplements blood and qi especially for the spleen & kidney. I used jasmine 🍚, added ginger slices as it cooked and omitted the meat. Squash szn is 😋😋😋 made this curried butternut squash soup in less than ten minutes in my @vitamix and it came out so creamy and delicious. Simply roast 2 butternut squash in the oven then combine in blender with one can coconut milk, one container of @kettleandfire lemongrass bone broth, 2 tablespoons curry powder, sea salt, garlic, and pepper to taste. Blend on the soup setting. Roast pumpkin seeds and chopped apples while it blends. So so good and quick.

💜Purple foods for memory loss during menopause💜⁠

Last week in my membership club, one of my members asked for some tips to help with memory loss and concentration as we age, into and beyond the menopause.⁠

This is something I can really relate to, because my short-term memory is absolutely shocking. From forgetting why opened the fridge, to where I put ANYTHING, to the words coming out of my mouth as I'm speaking 😶If it's not written down, it doesn't happen...🤦🏼‍♀️⁠

I've always put it down to having too much of a good time in my 20s 🙈but given that I'm now in my 40s, it's not unlikely the peri-menopause is playing a part too. Oh the joys 👵🏼⁠

So what can we do about it? Well, it's important to understand that there are LOTS of factors that could be at play in declining memory and concentration as we age and there isn't a 'magic pill' to fix it. Poor blood sugar control, lack of oxygen to the brain, inflammation, toxins and stress all play a part. As with all these things, a holistic approach to health is needed. But the top 3 that I spoke about my Q&A were as follows:⁠

"Do you know of any good hand creams? I have always known my mother with dry and cracked skin on her hands. She always told me that the cause is of her cracked hands is her constant contact with water. Now that I am having constant contact with water when cleaning the apartment, as soon as the cleaning for the day is over and before going to bed, I am applying a good hand cream. The best I could find are the hand creams from weledamalta. Right now I am using their vegan Pomegranate Regenerating Hand Cream. What I love about the Weleda hand creams is that unlike other creams that I tried, they don't dry out after application. It really feels like they are restoring the skin's moisture and you can still feel the moisture after washing your hands. So no need to reapply it again too soon. . . "
