For all of our aviation history lovers out there, we had the opportunity to visit the @njahof : Aviation Hall Of Fame & Museum of New Jersey in Teterboro Airport and what a treat it was.
Founded in 1973 by Pat Reilly and Donald G. Borg, the Aviation Hall Of Fame & Museum of New Jersey is committed to preserving the Garden States distinguished aviation and space heritage. It achieves this by beautifully highlighting the men and women whose outstanding achievements brought world wide recognition to New Jersey aviation.
New Jersey has a rich aviation history and the museum’s collections focuses on the historic events and technological advances by New Jersey’s air and space pioneers over more than 200 years.
In the Raymond R. Wells theater, we had an opportunity to experience the saga of NJ aero-space history watching a riveting short film ‘Flight.’ The Hall of Fame saw us meet remarkable men and women who embody NJ’s rich aviation heritage.
The Dehmel Room provided us with an opportunity to see the worlds first electric simulator built by legendary Curtis - Wright, historically the Garden States biggest aerospace company. The room also has items from Tuskegee Airmen, Flying Tigers, Ebola Gay and many others.
In the Great Room, history came to life in with exhibitions including the worlds first hover craft, Airctaft and rocket engines built in New Jersey, @dassaultaviation Fundamentals of Flight Exhibit, the Hindenberg and Curtis - Wright display
Once outside, we experiences pure historical nostalgia when viewing the Martin 202A airliner from the 1950’s, Bell 47 , one of the first practical helicopters , Lockheed LASA-60 bush plane and the Convaie 880 Jetliner Cockpit.
