It’s not all pizza. It’s pizza. And coffee. And protein. And creatine. And work. So much work. Today’s work was dynamic effort squats. 60% plus bands but for once try to make my elbows look normal. 
You see, for years my elbows were high as hell and friends and lifting partners were like “uh...” and I was like “yo!” But then my coach was like “so...” and today I was like “fine!” and then I thought i brought my elbows down (first video) and my coach was like “nah” and then pulled my shoulders down and in and he was like “close!” So I’m calling it a win. 
Then I deadlifted. 
Then I did a bunch of walking lunges but some of them with a very heavy kettlebell. And since I was jamming my hand out for balance, I went ahead and made a video out of it. 
Progress and pizza. Look at that.

Thursday's (4/2) upper body strength session was slightly lighter with more volume, focusing on more dumbbell work and a bit more volume. This was planned and not due to any particular problems.

The program:
I. Viking presses: Top set of 10 reps @ 95lbs (43kg) each hand + bar weight.
II. Standing dumbbell overhead presses: 3 x 8 @ 35kg (77lbs) dumbbells.
III. Incline dumbbell presses: 3 x 8 @ 45kg (99lbs) dumbbells.
IV. Flat dumbbell bench presses: 3 x 8 @ 50kg (110lbs) dumbbells. 
V. Bodyweight pullups: 5 x 3.
VI. Barbell rows: 3 x 3 @ 365lbs (165kg).
VII. Unrecorded accessories: Isolateral lat pulldowns, isolateral seated cable rows, band y-pulls, cable face pulls, band pull-aparts, dumbbell skullcrushers, dumbbell hammer curls, band overhead triceps extensions, band triceps pushdowns, shoulder external rotations.

The videos:
1. Top set of Viking presses; hopefully hit 12 reps at this weight next week.
2.~3. First and third sets of standing dumbbell overhead presses.
4.~5. First and third sets of incline dumbbell presses.
6.~7. First and third sets of flat dumbbell bench presses.
8.~9. Fourth and fifth sets of pullups.
10. Final set of barbell rows.

Some light upper body work after a punishing lower body session was welcomed.

3x20e lunges with a 35lb KB

Had to speed the video up cause 40 total lunges is hard and takes a while. I haven't done 20 reps if anything but curls in a hot minute.

I don't like people labeling other people....but you weirdos that like doing lots of these are weird 😂😂 Rockin the new @dsmbarbell hoodie, too. Keepin me warm in a cold night.

3-7-2020 . 455lbs x2 for doubles. 
Long story short I hurt my back in 2018 and had sciatic nerve damage that messed me up pretty well. Couldn’t sleep, walk, sit,stand, basically I felt like there wasn’t a point to even have a body. Went to therapy for 1 year and some months and finally got approved to start lifting. Around November I got the chance to get really into weight lifting and fell in love with it. I finally feel like a normal person again. #getbettertoday #powerlift
