This💔...I feel compelled to tell our story after seeing Denzel Washington coming to the aid of a homeless man this past weekend putting himself in between the man and the police, he protected him and comforted him while they were dealing with the police..
Our experience could of been the same or worse but thanks to the quick thinking of my husband, that horrible scenario didn’t happen. 2 Days ago we heard a car crash outside of our condo, then yelling. I jumped up to see a young Black driver and an older white driver yelling at each other. Apparently the older gentleman sideswiped the young brother but was blaming him. Other cars filled with white young men were yelling at the young brother for standing and taking pictures of his car. The other older man was yelling he was going to call the police and the young man said “go ahead”...we felt the young man was probably feeling cornered and no doubt he was scared as the other idiots were screaming at him and wanted to fight him. I just kept hearing George Floyd’s voice and I was scared this could escalate. Darren ran downstairs and stood as a barrier to try to calm the young man down. He listened to him, let him tell his story. Let him be heard. The other cars had sped off...the old man just kept yelling but seemed to “not” of called the police. Darren stayed there until they exchanged info and the other man left.
With everything that has been going on...to be black in this world you are always the suspect first. We didn’t want him to feel alone. I will forever be inspired by you, my love @darrenstaten you always put others first. You are in good company in this world❤️💔#justiceforgeorgefloyd #justiceforahmaud #changeisgonnacome - 34 minutes ago
