Damn, I love a shadow ◗
There’s really nothing like bright bursting PNW sunlight to illuminate what lies in the darkness. ◗
It’s where the good stuff is. The really good hard stuff that most of us avoid. Because it’s painful. So maybe we just dip a toe in and see what’s going on under the surface. A bit at a time is just fine. A little meditation here. A walk outside with no headphones there. ◗
Jung says that we become enlightened by making the darkness conscious but doing that work is disagreeable and therefore not popular.
I’d have to agree. I tell my therapist a lot, I just don’t have the emotional capacity right now. Truthful excuses to avoid discomfort and pain.
