If you really think about it your daily life is a lot like those silly Christmas movies where a kid relives the same day over and over again. Though you do not have the exact same circumstances every day of your life, you do have predictable patterns. You know that if you do this...,the other person you are used to interacting with will likely do this... Monday through Friday you have overwhelmingly similar opportunities and situations available to you. If you did something wrong or want to try a different approach and create a different scenario than the day before you pretty much can do it tomorrow. You interact with the same people in the same context with many times available for you to try again. Use it. This loop of school days or work days over and over is a chance for you to make each one better by carefully evaluating the cause and effects of your choices the day before.
You have no excuse not trying a different way, you have so much data from all the days before and the ways you have tried to live the day. Start to pay attention to this information, what works and what doesn’t for getting you to your goal and creating the feeling you want to feel. Record your choices, identify what works and delete habits and patterns that don’t. Do not fall into an endless cycle of making the same mistakes. You know exactly where doing the same thing will get you so try something different. Try Something New! And then analyze that, if it works, do it again! And try to make it better. Daily progress is the secret to transformation.
I used to believe that this cycle of similar days meant that I was trapped and could never feel how I wanted to feel. These thoughts threw me into a cycle of depression and since I didn’t ever try to make my days better or to make them different, my experiences kept confirming my false beliefs. When I finally realized that this pattern was an opportunity to make progress, everything was different! I was excited for every new day because I had things in my head that I wanted to improve from the day before. My life was revolutionized. Yours can be too.
