travel & food stories [osaka 2018]
I remember this trip for being exhausted - I had just gotten home to Singapore from London and then I was whisked away on a family holiday 3 days after. Good time, though, but all I wanted to do was lie in bed for most of it😴
[1/4] we went out to the Itsukushima Shrine to check out the torii gate; along the way there were people selling this Oyster Croquette, which I /had/ to try
[2/4] there was a ton of food at the Kuromon Ichiba Market - this was a blowtorched scallop that I spent way too long staring at before deciding to eat it - check my story for a video of the blowtorching!
[3/4] so my parents aren’t big fans of sushi - which is funny given how often we’ve been to japan - so I often have to go find it on my own. this was a salmon chirashi bowl from the same market!
[4/4] ever since we first came to Osaka, we’ve loved coming back to this omu rice shop. We have no idea what it’s called, we just know vaguely where it is (in Namba) and what it looks like - which results in us arguing every time we are back in Osaka, lost in this underground maze, each remember the shop to be in a completely different location. We always eventually find it, though! —
