I feel like I’m starting to see the world begin to slow down around me. The idea of convenience is being challenged on so many fronts. We have so much more information available to us about things like nutrition and our impact on the environment than ever before and I think those facts are beginning to impact our generation for the better. .
For me, I’ve found it soul nourishing to slow down and put in the effort. To mend clothes, wash and fold cloth diapers, cook nutrient dense meals in my own kitchen- to choose to be comfortable with empty spaces on our calendar. .
Holistic living is something that I‘be found takes time. It takes time for reading and research, for supplying your home and for actually implementing the practices into your routine. For me, the time has always been worth it. I may go to sleep tired, but it’s a good tired- one that has come from accomplishment throughout the day. .
We’re all busy, but we can make choices as to what keeps us that way. We can choose hurry and hustle, or we can choose slow and intentional. Time is an investment, but one that almost always pays out. We’re creatures created for work. It’s in our core design. So when we put the effort in, when we take time to slow down and practice hard work, we’re fulfilling our purpose. It’s a process that I think will bring about restoration and sanctification for the soul. - 54 minutes ago
