My 20's were privileged. I was very naive, I had no outgoings as I lived at home with horses paid for. What was in my back pocket or my bank account was mine. Yes I got 2 degrees (I'm not really using either of them) while working in the local pub before landing an epic first graduate job, worked abroad and lived in London, but I also went through some horrific life experiences.
I suffered from domestic violence, I lost 2 people in my close family within a year, I completely renovated a house with a long term partner, got engaged and had a baby and then had the wedding called off and relationship broken down within 6 months of turning 30.
Since then, I started again and set up my self employed business. I have learnt more in the last 2 years than in my whole life. I am an integral part of a new family unit with a supportive partner. I will continue to learn and work my arse off through my 30's and hope to reap my rewards in my 40's.
My point is, we don't all become hugely successful overnight, we don't always choose our paths the minute we leave school, we make mistakes, we learn. Don't put pressure on yourself if your peers, cohort, people you follow, etc are seeming to be winning at life. Everyone has their own journey and goals and everyone's time will come at some point in its own way and in its own time.
