It’s ok to not always be ok. Sometimes you want to quit, some days you want to train for hours. No one is immune from this. Coaches, gym owners, newbies, veteran athletes, everyone has those days (or weeks). Take a moment, take a day, take a week, whatever it takes to get your mind right, and then get back to work. It’s a daily battle for some, just know you’re not alone. Fight on. @crossfitroasterbarbell

Growing up I was always the “fat kid”. I was teased, bullied, and never taken seriously. Middle school was filled with some of the worst moments of my life. Not only was I constantly teased and insulted, but I was also beaten  up. So, once I got to high school I knew that I wanted to get fit. I remember asking my parents to buy me workout equipment for Christmas and birthdays instead of games and shoes. Then, when I got to college (middle pic) I really started taking my fitness serious. I wanted revenge. Revenge on all the bullies, the girls that rejected me, and everyone who took me for a joke. However, when I started working at my university gym I realized that I could use what I had learned for myself to help others. People would message me or come up to me asking for advice. And I vividly remember one day thinking “this is my purpose; this is what I want to do with my life”. Then life hit me. I graduated from grad school, got married, moved to a new city, and got a “grown up job”. My passion for fitness and inspiring others had fallen to the way side. Currently, I have gained all of my weight back (plus some) and some days it’s hard to find the motivation. But I refuse to give up. I know that this is my purpose. I’m here to show others that it is not how many times you fall down, but how many times you get back up. So I’m not giving up. And you shouldn’t either. Success is on the other side of fear and comfort. Join me on this journey. I can’t say that it’ll be easy, but I know I’m my heart that it’ll be worth it!

This meet peak was perfect as far as today would show. PRd both lifts and got video cuz coach @_j_doll filmed, since I'm notorious for not bothering to setup cameras. 103/130 just a week out and feeling good. It's looking like I'll get to take a crack at 100 on the platform if all goes well. AO1 and the Arnold here we come 😏
