Renaissance in the Metro
You stand at the platform, waiting for your train to arrive. Your camera is ready, on hand, because you know the next train isn’t for another 5 minutes. You’ve seen a ton of shots taken by folks in the subway, they always look so good. *low rumbling in the background*
The train at the other platform slowly pulls in. Your camera is ready. You try to capture movement, one of those images with a nice blurring of the subject... wouldn’t that be nice... Wait. The shutter speed isn’t set right, and your hand isn’t steady. The moment passes. Maybe I’ll wait for the... A window into the cabin stops right in front of you. The train is packed with people. Is it rush hour? The window adds a nice frame. A man in the cabin looks over his left shoulder to see if it’s his stop; his head tilted ever so slightly to the back, his left hand clutching the pole beside him to keep his balance. What a pose, he looks like Adam, it’s The Creation of Man. You take the shot.
After a couple more photos, the train starts to pull away. You could try a few more shots to capture the trains departure. But you’re too distracted by that first shot, by the renaissance in the metro.
