Before you get sweaty remember to prep and mobilise the body before hand. In the morning or before bed even, check in with the body.

TEMPO ⚡️

If you’re not utilizing tempo work you’re missing out on a key training component.

Here I’m using a 3-3-1-1 tempo. -
3 second eccentric (going down)
-
3 second hold at the bottom
-
1 second concentric (back up)
-
1 second at the top
-
There are various ways to implement tempo work, this is just an example. Give it a try and get the most out of your training 💪🏼

Ladies! Did you know you can lift weights and not get bulky? Trust me, I’ve tried to get bulky, it’s really hard. 😂 All kidding aside, though, lifting weights helps prevent osteoporosis by slowing bone loss and possibly building new bone! This is especially important for women, who are more at risk for osteoporosis than men. This is just one of the many benefits of strength training for women, and why I love weightlifting. Pitfalls of lifting with machines:

I love lifting with machines💪🏼. I am so grateful to have one where I live during this time when most gyms are shut down. 
However, there are some pitfalls that come with the use of these machines.

According to fitness19.com “because users may feel safe to lift heavier weight there is an increased risk of injury.”❌. These machines also restrict your range of motion compared to dumbbells/barbells. 
So make sure you guys are lifting appropriate weight for your experience and weight level. Also don’t be afraid to make multiple weight adjustments until you find that perfect range🔥. Someone I look up to @fraserwilsonfit , has great form when he uses weight machines. I recommend looking up his videos if you need help figuring out the proper form for an exercise.

Way too many new coaches/trainers obsess over the “perfect” program, but sadly that specific program isn’t worth shit if the client or athlete can’t even execute the exercises properly. 
Learn to coach/communicate/problem-solve FIRST, and only then should you start worrying about the little X’s and O’s in each of your programs.

What’s the use of a complex business plan if it cannot be communicated well and no one understands it?

Sitting Military Dumbbell Shoulder Press!

This exercise works the trapezius, serattus interior, lateral deltoid, anterior deltoid, and triceps.

STEPS

Grab two dumbbells and sit on an incline bench. Make sure the back of the bench is set at a 90-degree angle.

Once you’re seated, rest one dumbbell on each thigh. Sit with your lower back firmly against the back of the bench. Keep your shoulders and back as straight as possible.

Raise the dumbbells from your thighs and bring them to shoulder height. If you have heavy dumbbells, raise your thighs one at a time to help lift the dumbbells. Raising a heavy dumbbell with only your arm could cause injury.

With the dumbbells at shoulder height, rotate your palms so that they face forward. If you prefer, you can also complete a dumbbell press with your palms facing your body. Make sure your forearms are perpendicular to the ground.

Begin to press the dumbbells above your head until your arms fully extend. Hold the weight above your head for a moment, and then lower the dumbbells back to shoulder height.

Complete the desired number of reps. If you’re a beginner, start with 1 set of 8–10 reps.

Tip

Dumbbells allow for more range of motion than a barbell and are sometimes easier on the joints.
