Saturday I had the privilege of coaching two amazing young men through the @strongmancorporation “Va State Championship & National Record Breakers” hosted by @brutestrengthgym
These athletes had a great day after putting their heads down for months to do the work! This was an Open MW <231 class brimming with talent, and an incredible experience watching these guys compete against one another.
@a_pepiot had commanding performances in the deadlift and stones. His competition made him fight for every single inch of ground in every event, and I’m truly grateful he was able to pit himself against some of the best. Going into the final event he was tied for first with two other competitors within 3 points! We stuck to the plan, and he knocked it out of the park.
@pennywise_55 entered the Open MW <231 waters for the second time today. He not only held his own but won out against his own training partner (a nationals level competitor) in the farmers carry. This was one of Bradford’s toughest events in prior competitions. His hard work paid off in spades as he PR’d his deadlift, press, and stones! Bradford has made tremendous strides in both his placings and performance, and I’m looking towards his future progress leading the pack!
Thank you both for trusting me. Enjoy your rest. Training starts again Tuesday.
I cannot put into words the gratitude I have for the help I received to help get these guys here, and I look forward to pushing these two to new heights. Well done!
Thank you to again to @mighty_mamiii and @thetravelingweightlifter for the game day guidance. Thank you to @brando_waterfront for hosting such a well run competition. Thank you to @subrowne42 for capturing the blood, sweat, and grind in every moment. Here’s to 2020! - 2 hours ago
