And all the introverts said “amen.” 🙌🏻 Really though, I’ve spent over a year on more or less of a “stay at home” order. From someone who was extremely active at the gym, running & competing, member of like a thousand boards, & leadership in more groups & community service organizations, + the demands of a top producer realtor, this was HARD.
Added on to that, my physical health & pain level was so bad I couldn’t even walk myself to the bathroom, or handle any outside stimuli. My ultra-competitive heart felt lost as the world went on without me. And I was scared. Scared of this life that was nothing like what I was used to. Scared of my health, & the possibility of never waking up again.
I am s o g l a d for it.
It ended up being the single most profound, & important experience of my life. For transformation, for my relationship with my husband, & with others, for the deepest sense of joy, for finding REST in God, ultimate peace & gratitude for living this life, +everything that comes along with it. And now? Now we have the opportunity for the entire // W O R L D // to have that same experience.
Yes it’s hard.
Yes it’s scary.
Yes we wish we never had to experience it. But we are, & there’s frankly nothing we can do about that fact. What we can do, though, is change our perspective. What we can do, is accept the pure bliss that is sitting on your Patio on a Sunday afternoon. We can take this extra time to read the book that’s been calling our name for forever. We can write that letter to the friend. We can really get grounded with that at-home yoga practice. We can have honest conversations with our spouse, & grow in ways we never thought were possible. We can be outrageously grateful for ANY morsel of food on our tables, or square of toilet paper on the roll. We can paint with watercolors for the very first time. We can find out what
G E N I U N E J O Y is like. Without the distractions. Without the striving or longing. Pure, genuine, blissful contentment of simply b e i n g.
You can spend hours scrolling social media & mindlessly watching tv. Complaining, whining, meme-ing.
Or you can elevate your entire experience of living. - 2 hours ago
