Day 9 of isolation.
Craving gelato today 😚. You see, I have always been a gelato lover. If you’ve ever joined my Retreats when I was based in Fuerteventura (Spain), you might remember this gelato place. Here I am back in 2013, enjoying 3 scoops of gelato. I would always have 3 scoops. And still today, when I crave gelato, and have the option to go out and enjoy gelato, I’ll have 3 scoops. At times I top up with 6 scoops ☺️. Why choose 1 scoop when you can enjoy more? I can’t wait to be able to go out and enjoy gelato somewhere again .
I remember, the gelato-maker in Fuerteventura. His name was Massimo, a fine Italian man. He would always welcome me with a big smile. We became good friends with time, and I would often sit on the little bench outside his gelateria and chat with him as he would usually stand outside the entrance with a cigarette in one hand, and wait for customers to come. I wonder how he’s doing today .
And such is life for many small businesses owners. No clients. No customers. Tough times. Financial insecurities. I know how that feels. It’s the raw reality for many. .
So as I was craving gelato all day, I remembered the “good old gelato days”. And memories are wonderful. Have you noticed how much you remember from the past these days? It’s incredible. Apart from letting my mind flow with memories, I had a relaxed day. Didn’t do much today. Some cleaning, cooking and walking from wall to wall to use my legs a bit .
I hope you are keeping well, wherever you are. I send you so much love, and some sweet gelato 🍨 love too,
Sally 🙏 - 2 hours ago
