Today’s the Trans Day of Visibility! I wanted to take this chance to introduce (or re-introduce) myself to y’all! For starters, you can call me Kavin! (Like “Gavin” with a K). A lot of my newer followers may not know but I came out as trans male almost 4 years ago. I’ve been having a really hard time with my image and I’ve been very dysphoric, but until I can start HRT and get surgery, I am doing my best to manage. To all pre-op and/or pre-hormone trans folks, please do your best to remember that your body doesn’t define who you are. I know it’s difficult to cope with at times but please be strong! Do whatever you can to help yourself feel more comfortable until you’re able to transition. We must all remember to support each other as well - don’t bash other people just because they don’t “look” or “sound” like their gender. Assumptions like that can be very hurtful and it makes it very difficult for people to accept themselves when they’re having opposition forced on them like that. Remember that every trans person starts off the same way, so we must make it a point to be supportive of others who are going through their struggles. Not everyone has the same support systems or means to go through the motions. On that note, happy Trans Visibility Day and be kind to each other!
