'All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.'
Last year ended like probably no year will ever end again. I spent Christmas Eve, Boxing Day & New Year's Eve in three different countries.
Also, last year I've begun to fulfil three of my biggest dreams I've had for a long time.
One, I started travelling without a return ticket. I just saved, quit my job, and started by going to India.
Secondly, I finally did a yoga teacher training there, so that I can teach everywhere in the world now.
Thirdly, I have, after having dreamt of it since I was a little kid, finally come to Africa. This is the dream I've had the longest of all, and now I am here. Started in Tanzania, will be here for 5 weeks, and then continue travelling on this beautiful continent.
Going for our dreams isn't always easy. We need to prioritize.
Do I want a stable life, lots of amenities, and stay in my comfort zone?
If the answer had been yes, I wouldn't be where I am now.
No income, living off my savings, out of a backpack. No place to call my own, no familiarities, getting accostumed with every new place again. Getting confronted with different cultural values and behaviours that are sometimes hard to accept. Being challenged on a daily basis to reflect on what I've always taken for granted, and seen as a fixed point in my life- that's pretty far out of my comfort zone. It's certainly not easy, but it is worth every time I stayed home instead of going out with friends to save money, every time I didn't buy something I wanted, because after all I didn't need it. Worth all the comments of people how they accomplished something in life, and I didn't- but atleast I had fun.
It's worth the efforts, the struggles. It's more than worth it. I can't recall any time in my life where I have been so fulfilled, knowing that I am truly, for now, living my purpose- and I'm just so curious to see where I'll end up.
